Aloha and welcome! My name is Jenna Clarke. I was born and raised on the North Shore of O’ahu in Hawai’i. In my personal life, I’m a wife, momma, daughter, sister, friend, essential oil lover, and follower of Jesus. My husband is a kiwi from New Zealand, so we spent the first 7 years of our marriage living in Aotearoa. We moved back to O’ahu in November 2013, and then in summer 2019 we moved to Lexington, Kentucky! Yip, we moved from Hawai'i to Kentucky and we love it.
I’m the Owner and Founder of Malama Momma. Through this business, I offer a variety of services including:
Infant sleep consulting (both virtual and in-home)
Newborn Care Specialist support (expert guidance and direct care during the first 16 weeks)
Labor and birth doula support (both virtual and in-person)
Postpartum doula support (including postpartum belly binding)
Holistic health and essential oil education (I am a doTERRA Wellness Advocate and business leader).
In addition to direct client care, I also offer classes and consultations on how to naturally prepare your body for conception, support your body during pregnancy, and use essential oils in labor, birth and beyond. We believe that natural solutions are safe, affordable and effective. I teach families how to utilize evidence-based alternative and complementary therapies in partnership with your health care providers. My background and Masters degree is in public health, so preventive health solutions have always been on the forefront of my professional career. It brings me great joy to pass on my knowledge and share plant-based tools that work! Trust me, I was a snobby skeptic at first. After all, I had a Masters degree and a bit of professional arrogance. Turns out, I didn't know about alternative medicine. For the past 8 years, we have learned about a whole new world of lifestyle medicine (backed by research) that is just not taught or understood in the field of western medicine.
Both of our beautiful daughters were born at Birthcare, a primary birthing center in Auckland, New Zealand. I planned for and was blessed to experience two wonderful, natural child births under the care of my midwife. Through these experiences and my background in health system management, I became more aware of the maternity system in America. When we moved back to Hawai’i, I transitioned out of my professional career to start Malama Momma. A year later, I completed doula training and have been offering birth and postpartum services for the past 7 years. Click the PDF on the right to download my professional overview.
Malama is Hawaiian and means, “to care for”, “to protect”. My hope and prayer is to offer my services to empower you to care for and protect your journey into parenthood. Becoming a parent changes you forever and having an expert guide can make the experience so much smoother.
I look forward to meeting you either in Lexington, Hawai'i, in your area, or online. I am certified and belong to a variety of professional associations for my industry.
Please book in a call with me so we can discuss how I may serve your family.
Mahalo nui loa,
Jenna Clarke, MPH, CD(DONA)
